Mug Rug using vinyl/Cross Stitch

I am finally back in my sewing room and I feel at home.  I made a mug rug for the nursing home and a tote.  I put some vinyl plastic over the cross stitch piece so they can put a mug on it.

I received the tea kettle from WOCS and I had to do something with it and I thought the mug rug would work. 

I forgot how to make a tote so I made a few errors, next one will be better.  I did not do the cross stitching.
